The focus of the Medical Careers program is to prepare students for an entry-level position in a healthcare field and for success in a post-secondary education program in a medical-related field.
Students have the opportunity to become certified in First Aid, CPR & AED, and test for their LNA.

What You’ll Learn

The first year students will learn about history and trends in medical care, careers available in the field of medicine, legal and ethical responsibilities of medical careers, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, human growth and development, cultural diversity, geriatric care, infection control, First Aid, CPR, and how computer technology is being integrated into the medical field.

The second year students will acquire skills either as a medical assistant or nurse’s aid and have the opportunity to co-op. Human biology and/or medical terminology with be offered for college credit in conjunction with Community College of Vermont.
